Oral health

Maintaining good oral health is necessary for all ages, cleaning your teeth twice a day helps you to remove all the food and plaque you have built up over time. If your teeth have been deprived of good care, this can lead to issues such as gum infections and other diseases which can be very unpleasant.

It's important to introduce and maintain the habit of regular brushing to your child soon as their milk teeth start coming through, and to get them into a routine of doing it so they can have healthy strong teeth for the foreseeable future.

As soon as your child's teeth appear it's important to have routine dentist appointments, they can then get used to the environment and the process, and won't have a fear of going.

Ways to make tooth brushing fun for your child

  1. Doing it together, making it a family activity will have a positive influence

  2. Encourage independence

  3. Make a reward system

  4. Remind them that the tooth fairy likes clean teeth only!

Foods

Dairy foods such as Milk, Yoghurt and Cheese are best for your teeth, as they are rich in Calcium. It also strengthens your Jaw and every other bone in your body.

Of course our children are going to eat sugary foods and drinks as part of their balanced diet, but it makes it equally as important to brush twice a day and eat healthier foods too.
